Now in its fourteenth year, the CYM Annual Recognition Dinner shines a light on the best and the brightest leaders in youth ministry. Who will you nominate or name as award winners from your parish? All nominations and submissions for the annual recognition dinner are due to the CYM office by April 4, 2018. Tickets for the dinner must be ordered by April 27, 2018. Reservations are $35 per person or $315 for a table of 10.

Award Categories

Volunteer of the Year

The Annual Recognition Dinner allows each parish or school to name one adult (21 years of age or older and cleared for service in the diocese) to receive the Volunteer of the Year at the event. Please note, this award is not a nomination. When parishes name a Volunteer of the Year, that person receives the award.

St. Timothy National Youth Award

Parish or School leaders can name two young people from their parish or school for this national award.  The St. Timothy Award is the highest recognition from the NFCYM for a diocese to confer to a junior or senior high school youth who lives as a disciple of Christ, sets a positive example for other youth, witnesses to their faith by exhibiting Catholic morals and integrity, demonstrates Gospel values through service to others, and exhibits Christian leadership in parish, school, and/or community settings. This is not a nomination. The person named will receive the award.

St. John Bosco Diocesan Award

St. John Bosco is the founder of the Salesian Society and is the patron saint of young people.

The St. John Bosco Award is a diocesan award given to adult leaders (21 years and older and cleared for service in the diocese) who have been involved in youth ministry for five or more years and have been positive role models in one of several categories. Nominees may be volunteer or salaried, lay or religious. Indivduals are nomintaed for this award and winners will be announced after April 4, 2018.

Companions on the Journey National Award

Parishes and schools can nominate adult volunteers, paid staff, or clergy (21 years and older and cleared for service in the diocese) for the Companions on the Journey Award, given by the National Federation for Catholic Youth Ministry through local diocesan offices for service in one of seven categories to an individual who has provided three or more years of outstanding service to youth. Indivduals are nomintaed for this award and winners will be announced after April 4, 2018.
