NSYR In-service Scheduled

The National Study of Youth and Religion (NSYR) is a research project being conducted by the University of North Carolina, Chapel Hill under the direction of Dr. Christian Smith, Professor in the Department of Sociology. This 6-year project, funded by a grant from the Lilly Endowment, Inc., is designed to enhance our understanding of the religious lives of American adolescents. Since 23% of all survey respondents are Catholic (and 25% of young people in the United States are Catholic), this data gives those who work or live with Catholic youth one of the best glimpses of what young people have to say about their faith. Make plans today to spend a day unpacking the study. The NSYR In-service is Friday, March 24, 2006 at St. Elizabeth Ann Seton Parish, Bear, DE. The day begins with refreshments and prayer at 9:00 a.m. and the presentation begins promptly at 9:30 a.m. The day concludes at 2:30 p.m. Cost is $10 per person and includes materials and lunch. Registration is now open. For more information click here.

Catholic to the Core

The latest Youth Ministry Resource Manual will help the young people in your diocese embrace the fullness of our Catholic identity at time when many young people are wondering what it means to be Catholic. The sessions take them inside the various beliefs, traditions, and practices that externally mark one a Catholic that they may discover the richness and deeper meaning of their own Catholic identity in today's world. Purchase the manuals ($10), posters, and prayer cards (included) for your parish today by contacting CYM.

Quotable
