Recognition Dinner: One Last Chance for Parishes to Get On Board

The deadline has passed and several parishes have still not taken the opportunity to send in the names of those they'd like to nominate for the inaugural Recognition Dinner to be held Tuesday, April 12th at Christiana Country Club. Download a nomination form and explanation of awards and send it in today.

Also, if your parish has nominated someone for an award and you haven't reserved your tickets yet, please do so today. A reservation form is available online and can be faxed to CYM. Tickets can be paid for at the door but reservations are needed. See you on the 12th!

Some Positive E-mails About Sports

CYM received the following comments via email the other day about the end of basketball season for one particular team. It's a chance for everyone involved in youth ministry to celebrate the great things happening with our young people:

"The kids had a blast in the tournament and all of you really went way out of your way to make them feel welcome and special, with your kind and enthusiastic words in announcements and introductions. And the
all-out "March Madness" atmosphere created by the athletic association was (in the words of our players and fans) "Too Cool!!!"

"I know that recently, the CYM sports program had a couple of negative blows...I think you will find this a refreshing change to those negative comments...This is what CYM sports is all about and we are very happy to be a part of the POSITIVE side of things. It was a great season... Our boys and coaches all worked very hard and their improvement was extraordinary!!! Christ the Teacher basketball teams, may not have been always the winning team score-wise, but if you look at how much they'd improved since the beginning of the season and how much heart and soul they put into all that they did, I think you'd agree with me that, they are all true CHAMPIONS!!!"

"Our Son has been playing basketball since kindergarten. But never in his basketball years has he learned so much or been so challenged as this year. He thoroughly enjoyed this season more than any other in his short career. Last night was sort of bittersweet for him...he loved the glorious ending, yet hated to see it end. The whole team improved in leaps and bounds."

"Thanks for a wonderful season! It was such a pleasure to be part of this great experience. The boys got better each week thanks to their hard work and the dedication of the coaches which culminated in today's championship, We especially thank the coaches for their time and effort and for being so supportive of the guys and the players were a delight to watch. It's truly what sports should be about. Our only regret is that the season is now over. We hope to see you all soon and thanks again!"
