As Darkness Gives Way to Light

The Winter Solstice is almost upon us. Very soon our days will be at their darkest. How appropriate it is for us to celebrate God "in the flesh" in the coming days and weeks. Just as the prophets foretold, the people who walked in darkness will see Jesus, God's great Light! Then as each passing day grows brighter, cold will give way to warmth, and the deadness of winter will bring new life to our waiting world.

As we prepare a way in the desert, we offer you the following:

Quotable: "Brothers and sisters: Rejoice in the Lord always. I shall say it again: rejoice! Your kindness should be known to all. The Lord is near. Have no anxiety at all, but in everything, by prayer and petition, with thanksgiving, make your requests known to God. Then the peace of God that is beyond all understanding will guard your hearts and minds in Christ Jesus. " Phil. 4:4-7
