As we brave the ice, snow, sleet, and rain, may we offer you the following new information:

  1. The Catholic Committee on Scouting invites all Scouts, Scout Leaders & their families to join in recognizing those who have earned religious emblems and awards this year at a special Mass this Sunday, February 1st at the 11 a.m. at St. Peter's Cathedral.

  2. Need help Raising A Teen? Then join St. Elizabeth Ann Seton's parish community as they host an awesome seminar on the subject on February 24th from 6:30-8:30pm. Child Inc. of Delaware will give a 1 1/2 hour talk on adolescents followed by a question/answer period.

  3. In case you haven't heard, the Diocese of Wilmington has been chosen as one of the sites of the premiere of the Center for Ministry Development's Seminar on Effective Practices in Youth Ministry. Please download a flier today and invite your priests, deacons, parish staff and all your volunteers.

  4. The Governor’s Outstanding Volunteer Awards focus public attention on the value and joy of volunteering, and inspire others to follow the fine example of the awardees and all volunteers throughout the state. Please feel free to nominate young people or adults who have made a significant contribution to the community through volunteerism. Nominations are due by 2/17/04.   5. You should have received Nexus 2004 registration information. Online info is also now available.

  6. It's not to early to plan! World Youth Day 2005 will be here before you know it. Please invite the young adults you know to attend an Informational Meeting next month. Fliers for the meeting are available online.

  7. The dates for Youth Leadership Institute have been announced. Please download a flier and spread the word!

  1. The 2004 Youth Ministry Resource Manual Living Justice, Proclaiming Peace is now available from CYM. This annual resource includes 13 sessions with activities, prayer experiences, and reflections on the topic of social justice. Because CYM buys in bulk, your copies are just $10 and available by emailing CYM.

  2. The next session of the Youth Ministry Institute (YMI) is set for scheduled for February 21, 2004.

  3. Lent begins on Ash Wednesday, February 25, 2004. Catholic Relief Services offers Operation Rice Bowl as an opportunity for faith communities in the U.S. to pray, fast, learn, and give throughout these 40 days. This year, Operation Rice Bowl is offering a new way for individuals and families to participate, with an online "virtual" Rice Bowl opportunity.
