Peace be with you as we begin another program year and especially as we approach the one-year anniversary of the tragic events of September 11. We recognize that many family, parish, and school communities will want to plan for and provide opportunities to acknowledge and commemorate September 11, 2001. Might I offer two suggestions:

Saint Mary's Press is providing for you a collection of resources on our Web site WALKING WITH TEENS IN HOPE, http://www.smp.org/tragedy , to help you and the young people in your life find peace and healing.

Also, the menu on the left side of www.cdow.org (the official website of the Diocese of Wilmington) provides a link the USCCB resource NINE DAYS TO 9/11, a wonderful tool you'll find very useful.

As we all continue to heal, we pray for courage, compassion, and wisdom to guide us as we guide and support our young Church, so that all may live without fear and anger.

In Other News, keep an eye out next week for the first Quarterly Mailing of the program year, including all the paperwork for Kommotion, our Jr. High Rally at Sandy Cove on October 20th.

The results of annual Drug Free Poster Contest will be announced next week and the winning posters will be reproduced as 18x24 posters that will arrive at your school or parish just in time for National Red Ribbon week in October.

If you plan to attend the National Conference on Catholic Youth Ministry this December in Denver, please send your registration materials in today! Our deadline is September 15, 2002 to meet the early bird registration. If you need more materials, please email CYM today!
