If you are a parish or school youth ministry leader and have not signed up for one of several in-services about For the Sake of God's Children, the diocesan response to the Charter for the Protection of Young People, published last year by the United States Conference of Catholic Bishops, please do so at once. For more information, call CYM at 302-658-3800. Attendance is mandatory for at least one parish youth ministry leader per parish/school and meetings have already begun. Registration is now open for Youth Leadership Institute 2003, held this summer at St. Andrew's School in Middletown, DE. This intensive leadership training runs from July 13-17, 2003 and is open to rising sophomores and juniors in high school. For more information or to register your young people, please click and visit www.cdowcym.org/yli03/. Everything you need is right there! If you haven't already started, you better begin planning for NCYC 2003. All high school students are invited to navigate the River of Life in Houston, Texas, from November 13th-16th with 25,000 of our closest friends! CYM has been able to assemble a comprehensive, high quality NCYC package at a cost lower than many other Dioceses in our region. All event information, package details, registration instructions, and general information is available online by clicking http://www.cdowcym.org/ncyc/. Visit the site today to begin your parish/school's journey to Houston. There is still time to register for summer courses offered by CYM, in conjunction with the Center for Ministry Development (CMD). Completing these courses is the only way to earn the Certificate in Youth Ministry Studies. Up to six of our youth ministers will receive their certificates in the coming weeks! For more information and to register, get a brochure at: www.cdowcym.org/pdf/cmd03.pdf, or contact Anthony Albence at aalbence@cdow.org. For more information on the Center for Ministry Development, visit their website at: www.cmdnet.org CYM is pleased to announce information on an exciting new training opportunity for those who minister to and with young people. Ministry Training Source (MTS), a nonprofit organization created to address the growing need for formation of lay ecclesial ministers in the church, is sponsoring this exciting program. Utilizing computer and Internet-based technology to increase both the access to and quality of ministry formation for these ministers, MTS is launching a pilot two-year Online Ministry Formation Program. For more information on this exciting opportunity, visit the MTS website at: www.ministrytrainingsource.org and/or contact Anthony Albence at aalbence@cdow.org. Even though the media may have moved on from the news of war in Iraq, there are still many reasons to Pray for our soldiers and their families, as well as the people in Iraq. To read how one of the members of the CYM Advisory Board is spending his time away from home and family, visit the link below: www.delawareonline.com/newsjournal/local/2003/05/05milestonespassa.html The next quarterly mailing arrives in a week or so via the parish mailing system (unless you are a school and you'll receive yours via US Mail).
