Thank you to the many wonderful leaders who brought young people to Nexus! What a wonderful day and a great sight to see so many young people gathered to celebrate and learn. Matt's presentation was superb and Ceili Rain rocked the house! But those are just our opinions. We'd like yours. Please visit the Online Evaluation at www.cdowcym.org/survey/nex03eval.htm and complete the form. It'll only take you a few minutes. Also, please pick a few young people and perhaps one or two more adults that attended and ask them to complete it too! Thanks. So that we don't lose money on future events, CYM is considering establishment of a New Policy regarding Registration Deadlines and Fees. Please take a moment to review this policy at http://www.cdowcym.org/policy/regcost.htm and let us know your thoughts. The CYM Advisory Board will take it up at their next meeting. By Wednesday, March 26, 2003 you should have received your quarterly mailing with all the information necessary to register your young people for the 2003 National Catholic Youth Conference in Houston, TX. Please note the deadlines and registration process carefully. As a resource to diocesan, parish, and school contacts, the National Federation for Catholic Youth Ministry has assembled a web page listing resources and links of resources related to the Conflict in Iraq. You will find this link at http://www.nfcym.org/iraq. Please continue to pray for peace. GET CONNECTED! Seminar.

Saturday, April 5, 2003, at Neumann College in Aston, PA A basic moral test for society is how it treats its most vulnerable members. The poor have the most urgent moral claim on the conscience of the nation. In every economic, political, and social decision, a weighted concern must be given to the needs of the poorest and most vulnerable. When we do this, we strengthen the entire community, because the deprivation and powerlessness of any member wounds the whole society. For some great resources from Catholic Relief Services and more information about the Option for the Poor and how it influences Catholic Relief Services' work in Mexico, Central America and the Caribbean, visit http://www.catholicrelief.org/what_we_do_in_the_united_states/operation_rice_bowl/index.cfm Do you have ideas? The NFCYM is seeking creative ideas that teach social justice to include in a session for the 2004 Youth Ministry Resource Manual which is titled: "Living Justice, Proclaiming Peace." Michael Theisen (Rochester, NY) general editor for the 2004 YMRM is looking for your most creative ideas, BRIEFLY summarized in 2-3 paragraphs, that will help the reader grasp the idea's purpose and its methodology (how it would unfold). Please send ideas along with your name, diocese, and e-mail so it can be printed in case people wanted to get in touch with you to learn more. All ideas would need to be sent in by May 1. If the idea is based on an already published work, we need the exact publisher, book title, and a copy of the title page (usually the first page inside the book with all the copyright info on it).
