Volume 1, Issue 8

In this Issue:

  • Youth Leadership Institute

  • Youth Festival Thanks

  • World Youth Day Update

  • Poster Contest Reminder

  • Upcoming Quarterly Mailing

  • Way too easy trivia!

There are still lots of space at Youth Leadership Institute. If you haven't nominated two young people from your parish, please do so today. To make it easier, we've put all the paperwork online. Just visit www.cdowcym.org/yli/index.htm and find all you'll need to register your teens. To date, we only have representation from diocesan institutions listed at www.cdowcym.org/yli/list.htm. Please spread the word!

To make it even easier, the Association of Youth Ministers (AYM) is offering two $100 scholarships for YLI this year. Call Barb Kelly (302-453-8922) at Resurrection Parish for details.

Instructors for YLI are needed too! If you'd like to teach a course, please send an email with your name and a bit about the course to catholicyouth@cdow.org. We need to recruit teachers and chaperones, so any help you can give is appreciated.

Thanks to those dedicated youth ministers and volunteers who brought such energetic young people to the Youth Festival. Special thanks to Robyn Groeber and Anthony Albence for organizing this event. To those from way down south: your dedication is inspiring; your stamina is awesome!

World Youth Day is almost closed. Only two more weeks to get all your paperwork and money in! To attend, log onto the web and visit http://www.cdow.org/cymyouthday.html.

The deadline for the annual Drug Free Poster Contest is just around the corner. Flyers are posted at http://www.cdowcym.org/pdf/dfp02.pdf. All entries should be turned in by June 3rd.

There will be a Quarterly Mailing coming from CYM to a mailbox near you within the next week. Please keep an eye out for it. It will include next year's calendar of events for CYM, but if you'd like a sneak peak, visit www.cdowcym.org/events.htm.

We thought that last issue's trivia was easy. Maybe too easy! No one got it correct, so we'll try again.

?  The Question: Where will World Youth Day 2005 be held? To answer, please send your guess to catholicyouth@cdow.org. Hurry, there's only one winner!
