We receive the Beatitudes from Matthew’s gospel reading this week. These blessings relay the proper attitude we are called to have in response to the love of God and how to relay this love to our neighbor. This week reread Matthew 5:3-12 and prayerful consider each blessing. We all have heard these before but how many of us are living them? As you pray and meditate on each blessing, contemplate how you are living these attitudes and how you can better live them fully. Maybe choose one to focus on, how can you be more merciful, meek, clean of heart, etc.? Spend some time with the Lord in prayer and I am certain he will show you the way to obtain the pure happiness that the beatitudes provide.
